Using plants gathered around the island, participants will craft a range of tools traditionally used by the Taketomi islanders.

Participants will learn how to weave a table runner using a food-treadle floor loom.

Participants will learn how to play the sanshin. Lessons are suitable for beginners, and participants will be given the opportunity to play this traditional Okinawan instrument from the comfort of their guest pavilions.

Shiisa is believed to scare off evil sprits. You may make only one Shiisa in the world.The unique Shiisa made at the atelier in Taketomi will be your one and only memento.
